About Us
We are the archers of the beast of inequity. One of our founders was later nominated for a Nobel prize. A Board member was named a Macarthur Genius. So you see, when you support the Women’s Foundation, you are flanked by brilliant warriors. For over 30 years, the Foundation has been not just a money giver but a relentless prizefighter for social change — a dynamic network and a force for justice that finds dedicated leaders and grassroots organizations working on the front lines in geographically diverse areas throughout the state. A pack of pathfinders, we are known for being early in on issues, for advocating change into law, and for moving what seemed unmovable. With decades of momentum and more than ten legislative wins to date, the Foundation was an early funder of human trafficking intervention and prevention, lesbian and transgender rights, environmental health, criminal justice work and campaigns to end violence against women.
