Always, the greatest effort is needed to start something in motion. By building a movement, the Foundation sustains and accelerates each contribution of ideas, energy, time or money. The Foundation draws together activists, academics, private sector allies, elected officials and administrators, so they recognize they are on the same path and learn to assist each other. This creates momentum that sustains your gift and gives it wings. We increase this momentum by connecting leaders with Sacramento, with the media, and with larger funders — but most of all, to each other. We make it possible (and even easy and fun) for connections to be built. In this way, we can be more effective in creating a sea change. That’s a serious movement…one that achieves its goals and looks ahead to the next brilliant victory. It’s the lifework of the Foundation to improve and change our generation and the next. Which is why we are creating a movement that will still be strong for our daughters and their daughters. |
