Strengthening Organizations

We strengthen nonprofits through hands-on training and by bringing them into our powerful community.

"The Women's Foundation funds some of our after-school programming and the cascading mentorship program—the recruitment of alumni to develop, organize and then cofacilitate all of our workshops." Elizabeth says if she had had such a place to go as a young woman, her whole life would have turned out differently. "I want girls to learn they can turn to their families when they are in crisis, but if not, they can turn to Banteay Srei."

We don't grant wishes. We grant power and knowledge (along with some money).

We strengthen non-profit organizations through hands-on training and a powerful circle of relationships. We help them assess their strengths and weaknesses, and in the process they realize how they can become more effective. They become part of a community, attending Foundation-sponsored trainings on how to raise money, how to organize their communities, how to talk to the media. We show up and share our knowledge of best practices; we mentor through personal relationships, as well as through technical assistance; skill-building, participation in the Women’s Policy Institute; movement-building retreats; learning cohorts.
